The Monster

5 friend’s were goofing around a campfire. When suddenly one of the group named Steve said, “Do you guys wanna hear a creepy legend”?  “Sure”. The others agreed. “Ok, I’ll start”. He smiled creepily. 

“Once upon a time, in these very woods. A group of hikers went on a trip. The group consisted of 4 friends: Kaya: The leader, Seb: The funny one. Jason: The annoying, and Sandy: The proper one. They walked through the forest, and found a nice spot to camp for the night. Sandy refused to sleep on the ground no matter how many times Jason said they had sleeping bags. 

Kaya and Seb were talking, then Kaya saw something orange in the corner of her eye. It was a lost dog! To be more specific it was a Corgi. Their stubby little legs make their odds of surviving in the wilderness were 0%. Kaya walked up to the puppy and realised it was probably abandoned. She asked Seb if the group could keep it. With a sigh Seb agreed, and so did the group.

While everybody was eating, Kaya ran around with her now new dog she named Jax. Jason thought something was off about the dog. Firstly the dog had no leash or collar. Which might seem normal at first, but they were far off into the woods. How would a Corgi make it this far off in the woods without an owner. It just did not make sense.

Jason glared at the dog. Jax gave Jason an evil look, which made Jason feel like the Corgi was staring into his soul. After that Jax ran off. Kaya was about to go get him, but Jason said not to worry that he will get the dog. Jason ran around the campfire, and then after the dog. A few minutes passed and there was no sign of Jason or Jax. A scream pierced through the woods, and echoed in the group’s ears. Right after that Jax came out of the blue, and started to wag his stubby little tail, but there was no sign of Jason. Suddenly Sandy gasped, and fell to the ground. Seb, and Kaya turned around to see their beloved friend Jason, bloody and bitten. Whatever it was, it crushed most of Jason’s bones, and punctured his organs which were partly visible now. 

The wound was fresh, blood was running from his mouth, and his eyes were wide open. So whatever bit him most likely got him by surprise. 

The group was shaken, and Sandy was crying. Seb and Kaya concluded it most likely could have been a bear. They left Sandy with her grief for a while. When they came back there were two corpses. Jason, and Sandy. Regret loomed over the two remaining. Kaya, and Seb ran for their lives. Seb tripped in the process. Kaya wanted to help him up, but when she looked back all she could see was Jax eating Seb’s now dead body. The Corgi jumped on Kaya, and then”… Steve stopped telling his story.

A very real scream was heard through the woods. “What was that?” The group of five stumbled through the dark woods. They stopped in their tracks, and saw a Corgi eating a man. Then it transformed into its real form. A giant purple alien creature with tentacles coming out of its mouth. It was oozing with goo.
